I sometimes come across as an asshole without meaning to be. Other times, its just hard to take me seriously. I’ve said before and will say again, I don’t care if you’re laughing at me or with me as long as you laugh. Please note that what you are about to read is an actual conversation I had with friends today. Yes people, I really am like this ALL the time. And I’m not just goofy, I can wander into Strange from time to time. I apologize in advance. If it pops in my head, its usually also going to pop out of my mouth.

FRIEND: I have a case of the blahs.

ME: “Its ok. I know I’ve been bitching but you’re welcome to chime in. I’m not sole proprietor of The Bitchy Ship y’know.”

FRIEND: The Bitchy Ship? LOL

Me: What?

Friend: Its a tequila kinda night.

ME: Sorry. I’d drink with you but I’m banned from drinking tequila in three states.

FRIEND: LOL I don’t drink rum. Last time I did I had a 2 day hangover.

ME: Ew. Rum makes me puke. No rum for me. Tequila, however, just makes me think i’m either Betsy Badass, Betty Boop or Bitty Funny. From what I hear, none of those are true.

FRIEND: I think wanna see that!

ME: Careful what you wish for. If I get stuck sleeping outside, I am so totally blaming you!

FRIEND: But it would be worth it! Deal!

ME: *face palm*

FRIEND: I hate when I have a pity party. Doesn’t do a damn bit of good.

ME: If I bake you a cake will that make the party a lil better? (*head desk* here’s the asshole thing I was telling you about. Totally didn’t mean to!)

ME: (sic) Nope. It didn’t happen. He’s avoiding me. Won’t even come in the room if I’m in it. Stupid.

FRIEND: Guys are very good at avoiding us.

ME: He can keep trying to avoid all he likes. He can’t play keep away forever. I’m burning off some stress scrubbing my house from top to bottom & watching my LSU game.

FRIEND: This is his M.O. He avoids you. Just wonder why he hasn’t figured out that tactic doesn’t work - least not forever! (LOL!)

ME: Apparently he just doesn’t know. Its like housebreaking a dog, but even they learn to take their shit outside eventually.

FRIEND: *struggling to breathe she’s laughing so hard*

Talking too fast or getting randomly sidetracked in the middle of a conversation.

Example- Friend: “Did I tell you I’m goint to New Mexico next month.”

Me: “Oh really? I was stationed there about 12-13 years ago. Its okay. I wouldn’t call it Vacation Capital of the US or anything. Did I mention I have to get another pair of boots. I put mine on this morning and the sole is cracked clean thru the shoe.”

Friend: “Uh, hello? New Mexico?”

Me: “What? I was getting back to it.”

Disney loves its movies. Dozens and dozens and dozens of them, over nearly 100 years of filmmaking, they love their movies and their characters. Except for the 1946 live action/animated feature Song of the South. It’s the only Disney movie that has never been released on DVD or Blu Ray, and many have speculated it never would. Or would it?

I agree with this point of view. Sadly, there will always be narrowminded people who will see it in a negative light in which it wasn’t (or wasn’t meant to be) painted. This was an entirely different era.

So, I’m new to this whole Tumblr thing. I’m doing this at the urging of friends who know I can’t manage to keep a regular blog to save my life. This may be part of a standing joke between us that while I love to write, and am currently in the middle of my first novel, blogs have a way of escaping me. Its easier for me to keep up with my twitter account than a blog. (Yes, I have a twitter account and you are more than welcome to look me up.)

Why is it easier? Well, Twitter enables my corny, random, albeit short trains of thought.

I am notorious for being in the middle of a conversation and having to take a side trip onto something random. I do circle back to the conversation, but when something pops in my head, it also usually pops out of my mouth. If it goes without saying, I’ll usually say it anyway. :)

Sooo… a little about me. On my twitter, I’ve described myself (in those lovely 140 characters) as: “I’m Cherokee & Irish, a writer & chef, former Army SGT, happy Cappy, half hippie, music lover, movie buff, sports nut, classic car fetishist & sarcastic dork.” That’s the short of it. I live by my personal motto of “Try anything once, do everything twice” and “its the things that are NOT on my resume that would astound you.” I have done a lot of things and experienced so much that while my life has slowed down some now, I can still consider my life full and well lived. I’ve played music, created art, played sports, given into my love of the outdoors, created incredible meals, and much, much more.

I LOVE music. I listen to everything from Mozart & Chopin to Widespread Panic and Alice in Chains. My favorites include Ben Harper, John Hiatt, Montgomery Gentry, Steve Carlson, Galactic, Eric Clapton, Better Than Ezra, Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc.

I love a good action or horror movie, though strangely enough my favorite movie in the world is A Knight’s Tale. I was a comic book geek growing up so of course I love a good superhero movie. Laugh if you like, but I love the SAW movies… except that last one. I mean, what the hell, man??? I think National Treasure was incredible and as much as I often dislike movie remakes, I really did like The Count of Monte Cristo.

I read often and mostly read Nora Roberts/JD Robb, James Patterson and Stephen King. I’ve recently added Khalil Ghibran to my library and other classic authors like Steinbeck, Emerson, Poe, Yeats, Browning, Austen and Longfellow.

Sports. Oh how I love my sports! Football is number one on my list. I follow both NCAAF and NFL. This is followed by basketball, again laugh if you like but I do watch WWE (wrestling for those who don’t know), and am one of those crazy people who does, in fact, watch the olympics. I love gymnasts, mostly because I was a gymnast once upon a time. Ssssshhhh… don’t tell anyone.

I know you’re wondering about that whole “Classic car fetishist” thing. My favorite being a 1965 GTO but the 1967 Mustang GT Fastback …ooooh, yeah that one definitely does it for me. 1936 Mercedes is so gorgeous. The 1965 Mustang definitely gets my motor running (pun intended). I’ll just stop there or this list is gonna get very, very long.

I do consider myself half (okay way more than half) hippie, though according to friends I’m more tomboy (always in jeans), but we agreed that I’m just laid back, pretty goofy, love to have a good time, and don’t care if you’re laughing at me or with me as long as you laugh. I laugh at myself pretty easily, try not to take everything so seriously (who wants wrinkles at 30?) but I am a serious person when it comes to those I love, my work and my passions. I love feircly, am loyal to a fault, ridiculously honest, proud and am just a Plain Jane who wishes she was just a lil more Rock Star. lol And as for being a sarcastic dork? Just wait til you get to know me. You’ll see.
